Final Reflection
1. My experience with the quizzes was that they were all fairly easy. I found these to be one of the easy assignments of the class because they were so short and straight forward. I will use these tests to help me prepare for my future because they were not just textbook answers, but instead many consisted of questions that were about situations and the best way to handle such situations.
2. I think just learning more about the ethics and values that will be needed in our profession was the most helpful. The book gave us a lot of information that will be useful while practicing social work.
3. Overall I felt this course was very demanding. It involved a lot of assignments and work for it only being a one credit class.
4. I think the professor taught this course well. She laid out the expectations and made us aware of what we would need to do throughout the course. The pacing chart was a great idea.
5. I learned more about the NASW code of ethics. In other courses we never really went in depth through all of the codes and seemed to only focus on the first section. In this course I was able to learn and read more about all of the code of ethics and gained more insight on what the social work profession expects from us.
6. As I stated before I just think there was too much work for a one credit course. I also did not enjoy the assignments such as the chapter reviews and those types of exercises, because it just seems to not really help me out much with learning what I should be learning and instead just reminded me of something that is expected in high school classes and not college courses.
7. I think what I learned that was most important is the code of ethics. These are vital in the social work profession so I was able to become more familiar with each one and have started to memorize most of them.
8. The most significant factor in how I learned was through the text. There was some good information in the book; it was just the chapter review exercises that I thought were unnecessary.
9. Ethics and values are things that we all have in our own personnel lives, so it is not just the profession where we are expected to follow these, but in life we have to conduct ourselves ethically and with morals and values.
10. I cannot think of anything that I wish I learned in this course and did not learn.
11. I think there were too many little assignments that ultimately made no impact on our learning or will help us in our profession. Having to watch movies and videos that were hours long seemed to be a little much. Also as I stated before there was more work in this one credit class than all of my other classes combined. Granted, they were all easy assignments, it was just very time consuming and was difficult because we are full time students.
